Old battery collection in Dordrecht
On the island of Dordrecht and along the N3 we replace batteries at homes and business sites, including outside office hours when the van has to be ready again by evening.
A car battery is hazardous waste. Lead acid does not belong in the household bin or at the back of a shed where it leaks for years. So we always take away the battery we replace, free of charge, and hand it to a licensed processor.
Have older batteries lying around that did not come from us? We will take those too while we are there — whether it is a single battery in the garage or a stack on a business site. For companies we can call round periodically to collect.
Lead from car batteries is among the most successfully recycled materials there is: the lead, the plastic and the acid are recovered almost completely and re-enter the chain. Doing it properly costs you nothing.
